AOS Orwell’s well established safety credentials and culture aimed at promoting employee’s safe behavior in the workplace received kudos last week when one of its staff, Mr. Ifeanyi Okwunka assigned on a project at Bonny headquarters of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) won the NLNG General Manager’s special recognition award.
Okwunka of the AOS Orwell machine shop department was selected for special recognition and commendation by the NLNG for his outstanding behavior with his personal effort that upholds the company’s shared value throughout the assignment.
In a letter conveying news of the award which was personally delivered by Mr. Emmanuel Ipatt, the NLNG states “You have been awarded General Manager special recognition with a gift voucher for this achievement. Management wishes to commend you and hope that this award will encourage you to consistently strive for excellent performance.”
Over the years, AOS Orwell has maintained outstanding Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) records and its staff have received commendations and awards from all the major International Oil Companies in Nigeria, while on rig operations. The company’s safety mantra of “If you see something, say something” has earned its staff global recognition at home and abroad.
