Our history
More than four decades of indigenous energy-service excellence
From our incorporation in 1981, AOS Orwell has grown through strategic acquisitions, technology partnerships, local-capacity development and continuous investment in specialised facilities and personnel.
Today, we are one of the foremost indigenous oilfield servicing companies in the country, supporting clients with integrated expertise throughout the asset lifecycle.
OUR MILESTONES
1981
• Incorporation of Africa Oilfield Services.
1991
• Acquisition of fishing and machine shop business from BP/NSCO.
2002
• Orwell Nigerian becomes a privately owned indigenous company.
• Acquisition of wireline & pipe recovery business from Weatherford.
2006
• Launched pressure control business.
2007
• First local assembly of PDC bits.
• Fishing training school.
2011
• Acquisition of NOV Fishing business.
• Acquisition of Equipment and Tooling Africa.
• Merger of Africa Oilfield Services Ltd and Orwell International Nigeria Limited.
2012
• Acquisition of Otiotols Africa Limited & Titan Tubulars Nigeria Limited.
• Built the largest conductor casing and welding fabrication shop.
• Nigerian Content Achievement Award (Oil and Gas Council).
2013
• Deployed ERP system.
• Built first instrumentation cabinet assembly plant.
• Crossed US$100 million revenue mark.
2014
• Launched a valve repair and maintenance centre.
2015
• Launched first metering skid facility.
2017
• Completed the world-class home base facility in Port Harcourt.
2020
• Received the contract award for O&M service from NLNG valued at US$63 million.
